Reader Description

Becca's family has operated the lighthouse since she was a baby. Now, there's talk that they aren't needed anymore. The night of the big storm may be their last chance to prove that, sometimes, people can be more reliable than technology.

After you have completed the Reader

Becca and Tim are sad that they will have to leave their lighthouse home. Think about whether you'd like to live in isolation like the family in the story. Write a list of pros (good things) and cons (bad things) of this lifestyle. Now imagine you are Becca or Tim. Write about whether you would like to keep living at the lighthouse or leave. Explain why.
