3D DNA Model: Build a 3D model of the double helix structure using sweets to represent the different chemical bases. You could use two long pieces of red licorice (the "backbone") and small multicoloured marshmallows or gummy sweets (the "bases"). To build your model connect pairs of different coloured candies with toothpicks, then attach the toothpicks to the licorice. Give the whole thing a "twist" to show the double helix shape. Research this activity on-line if you need more information to follow.
